Bonding
Bonding is an alternative to veneers. It is ideal for minor chips, discoloration and small spacing discrepancies. It is usually completed in a single office visit, or perhaps two visits, and can improve the appearance of a tooth dramatically and quite quickly. In some cases no anesthetic is even needed. The plastic resin used is not as strong as the natural tooth enamel or the ceramic used in veneers. Bonding typically lasts three to five years before need of repair. For patients under the age of eighteen, this is often the best cosmetic treatment option because it can be easily changed to adjust to developmental growth.
