Laser Cavity Detection
Doctor Stone offers a painless laser cavity detection system called Diagnodent. The biting surfaces of our teeth are usually the most common areas to form decay. They often start out as stains and can quickly become large cavities. X-rays sometimes do not detect the decay until it is fairly large. The diagnodent uses laser technology to detect hidden and subsurface caries by measuring laser fluorescence within the tooth structure. Softened tooth and bacteria including decay will fluoresce. This technology is very accurate and allows us to treat decay when it first starts so we can provide our patient conservative fillings.
