Although a rather controversial subject within the field of dentistry, Doctor Stone is very much an advocate of the complete removal of all amalgam from any dentition filled with such as a restorative material. Amalgam contains mercury; and mercury is an element which has been linked and correlated to various autoimmune disorders such as Mutliple Sclerosis and Lupus. Doctor Stone most certainly assesses each patient on an individual basis, and although certain states threaten to revoke dental licensure for any dentist speaking out against the detriments of mercury, however, with this understanding being established, Doctor Stone is an advocate of the complete removal of all amalgam as restorative material. "Norway, Sweden, and Denmark have already banned amalgam," states Doctor Stone, "and I happen to agree with their decision." Reference.
